Our Mission Our aim in physical education is to provide a safe learning environment so that students will be able to experience positive, challenging, and enjoyable physical activity while learning about the benefits and importance of physical activity. Activity skills are practiced and refined to allow for successful participation in a variety of physical activities. As students participate more in sport and game-type activities, we will also focus on respecting officials, observing proper safety practices, and playing fairly with fellow students in and out of school. We strive to see that our students are provided with a broad range of opportunities to participate in a variety of physical experiences. These experiences provide students with a positive outlet for competition with peers, a means of gaining the respect and recognition of others, and an opportunity to develop positive self esteem. Students also will participate in a variety of health-enhancing activities throughout the year. Concepts and principles related to health-enhancing activity will be presented so that students will be able to make informed decisions relating to personal health and fitness choices. Through instruction and practice, we strive to provide experiences that will help develop confidence as our students take steps toward independently living a healthy, active lifestyle.
