If your child is sick
-
We do realize that there are days when students are not able to participate due to sickness. In cases of a minor illness such as a cold or virus, we will honor a note from a parent or guardian for the day. If a student needs to be excused for more than 3 days per grading period, a doctor’s excuse will be required. When a student is sitting out on a note from home, she is still required to dress out for the day.
- Students who are under a doctor’s care will be excused for as long as the doctor deems necessary. Students who are out with a doctor’s excuse are not required to dress out for class.
- If a student is excused from the day’s physical activities, she will be given a written assignment on a health or fitness topic for a daily grade.
Restricted Participation/ Medication
Students who have physical or medical conditions that will limit their ability to fully participate in class activities should notify their physical education teacher and submit a restricted participation excuse from their doctor. This notification should be updated annually.
Students who will need to use asthma inhalers or other medications during class must have a completed medication form on file with the school nurse. Students will bring their inhalers to class and use them as needed.
